Writing is resistance, but saving children will take all of us.
Writing has been not only survival, but also a way of reshaping silence into myth and grief into story.
My goal is to create space for others to transform silence into story. I see this as a way to activate community and movement—to help voices that are often marginalized or overlooked speak truth to power. In turbulent times, when fascism and authoritarianism continue to rise globally, I believe writing can serve as a form of resistance: a way of remembering, of insisting on humanity, of refusing erasure.
Ruptures is a collection of poetry I assembled during the harrowing times of COVID. It is a collection of poems throughout my youth, detailing my experiences of trauma, heart-breaks, addiction, and all that other fun stuff. If you want to have a good cry and a little laugh, it’s a quick read.
Mommy and the Blues is a book I wrote for my son. Ever since becoming a mother, I have grappled with the idea of how to best explain mental illness, especially one I harbour – Bipolar – knowing this will affect him for the rest of his life. It is my best attempt to reassure him, and it is my hope that this not only help him, but help other families broach this topic to their loved ones.
All proceeds will go towards my goal of promoting writing as a form a resistance (Writers For Palestine) which donates directly to PCRF (Palestine Children’s Relief Fund) and UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East), for as long as this genocide is happening.
Free Palestine.
Speak Truth to Power.
